Buying in the Phoenix Valley

Someone in your corner from the first showing to the keys.

Buying a home is the largest purchase most people ever make, and the listing agent on the other side works for the seller. We work for you — reading the contract, pricing the offer, and telling you honestly when a home isn't worth what they're asking.

  • First-time buyers, move-up buyers, new construction and relocation
  • Coverage across the entire Phoenix metro, not just one corner of it
  • No pressure, no obligation — start with a conversation

Why Buyers Work With Us

Representation, not a tour guide.

Anyone can unlock a door. What changes your outcome is what happens before the showing and after the offer — and that's where we spend our time.

01

Honest feedback on every home

We'll point out the deferred maintenance, the odd floor plan and the resale problem you'd inherit. You should hear the downsides from us before you hear them from an inspector.

02

An offer built to actually get accepted

Price is one lever. Terms, timelines, contingencies and how the offer is presented are the others. We use all of them so you're not overpaying to win.

03

New build guidance

The agent in the model home works for the builder. We come with you from the first visit, compare lot premiums and incentives, and keep the build on track through completion.

04

A vetted local team

Lenders, inspectors, title, insurance and contractors we've worked with repeatedly across the Valley. You get introductions, not a list of names to cold call.

05

The whole Valley, one point of contact

Search Queen Creek and Peoria in the same week without starting over with a new agent. Our agents live and work across the metro and share what they're seeing.

06

No pressure to buy today

If the numbers don't work yet, we'll tell you that and help you build a plan. We'd rather be your agent in eighteen months than rush you into the wrong purchase now.

Areas We Serve

One brokerage. The whole Valley.

Our agents are spread across the Phoenix metro, which means your search isn't limited by where one agent happens to live.

Tell us what matters — commute, price, home style, lot size, new build or resale — and we'll show you where in the Valley that combination actually exists.

Meet Ellie & The Home Shop

Built by someone who has been the buyer in a new place.

Ellie Urquidez moved to Arizona from the UK, which means she has been on the other side of this — learning a new market from scratch, with no idea which questions were the important ones. That's the experience she builds the buyer process around.

She started The Home Shop as a team, spent three years under local boutique brokerages, and in April 2026 launched it as an independent brokerage. Today she is Designated Broker and Owner, leading a group of agents based all over the Valley.

This brokerage has high standards, just like you. Every buyer here gets a real agent doing real work, not a lead passed down a chain.

How It Works

Four steps from first call to keys.

01

Strategy call

Budget, timeline, must-haves and deal-breakers. We map what you're describing onto the parts of the Valley where it exists, and flag anything that won't work before you spend a weekend on it.

02

Get pre-approved

We connect you with lenders we trust so you know your real number and your monthly payment. Sellers take offers seriously when the financing is already handled.

03

Search and tour

A curated list rather than everything on the market, updated as new inventory hits. We tour together and give you a straight read on condition, value and resale.

04

Offer to closing

We write and negotiate the offer, then manage inspections, appraisal, repairs and the title timeline so nothing quietly slips until the day you get the keys.

Buyer Questions

The things buyers ask us first.

How much do I need for a down payment?
Less than most people assume. It depends on the loan program you qualify for, and several options allow well under twenty percent. There are also down payment assistance programs available in Arizona. A lender can give you the exact number for your situation in one conversation, and we'll make the introduction.
What does it cost me to have a buyer's agent?
Buyer agent compensation is negotiable and is agreed in writing before we tour homes together. In many transactions it is covered by the seller or through seller concessions, but that is negotiated deal by deal rather than guaranteed. We walk you through exactly how it works and what it would mean for you before you sign anything.
Should I just use the builder's agent for new construction?
You can, but that agent represents the builder, not you. We come with you to the first visit so you're registered correctly, then help you compare lot premiums, incentives, upgrade pricing and contract terms, and stay on it through walkthroughs and completion.
How long does buying a home usually take?
It varies widely. Some buyers find the right home in two weekends and others take months, and inventory in your price range and area is the biggest factor. Once an offer is accepted, a typical financed transaction runs about thirty to forty-five days to close. We'll give you a realistic timeline for your specific search on the first call.
Do I have to sell my current home before I buy?
Not necessarily. There are several ways to sequence it depending on your equity, your financing and how much risk you want to carry. Since we handle listings too, we can plan both sides together so you're not left with two payments or nowhere to go.
I'm relocating from out of state. Can you help before I get there?
Yes, and it's a large part of what we do. We can walk you through how the Valley is laid out, run video tours so you're not flying in blind, and structure your visit so the trip is spent on homes actually worth seeing.
What if I'm still a year out from buying?
That's a good time to start. Early planning is where the money is made — credit, savings targets, understanding pricing in the areas you're considering. Reach out now and we'll help you build the plan, with no expectation that you do anything before you're ready.
